This week's Minoan Tarot cards

Being subtly stalked by a card...

I’ve been drawing weekly cards on Monday for several years now, and I rarely draw the same card two weeks in a row. That did happen a couple of weeks ago. And of course, when it does, I pay special attention to that card’s message.

And sometimes, a card stalks me. Or at least, it feels that way.

It’s been two weeks since I drew the Two of Horns. So it’s not a twice-in-a-row message. But I did draw it about a month before that. And it has turned up several times in the past year, far more often than any other card.

Does that count as having the card stalking me - or us?

I think maybe it’s a gentle reminder that this year is one of shifting sands for many of us. Not the kind of tumultuous, earthquake-style changes of 2020. But definitely Stuff moving around, changing the scene and altering the path.

I’m doing my best not to judge whether it’s good or bad, because really, it just is. Even right now, when the Sun is approaching its standstill at Winter Solstice and the seasonal energy feels a bit stagnant… stuff is moving where we can’t see it.

That’s probably often the case. But for some reason, the cards want us to be aware of it this year. Maybe to prepare ourselves for the end result, or maybe just to appreciate that the universe has its own ebbs and flows in what Neil Gaiman marvelously calls “Backstage.”

I don’t know about you, but as for me, whatever is going on backstage, I’ll be happy when the shifting is over and we’ve got something approaching solid ground to stand on again, at least for a little while.

Maid of Labryses: Stay curious and keep exploring. But take the time and the patience to examine what you've discovered and turn it over in your mind. Slow down enough to savor every discovery instead of racing on to the next one. Let the journey be the destination.

Two of Horns: Life is still rearranging itself right now. It may feel like everything is stagnant, but there's motion beneath the surface. Patience is key: wait for the process to come to its natural conclusion, then reassess and move forward.
