Thanks for the link! It must be the paperbacks that are no longer available. I have to limit my screen time due to vision issues, so I prefer print books.
I prefer paperbacks as well and his are all still in print with his publisher. I ordered a number of them from the publisher directly and they arrived quickly, the postage was not exorbitant, and they are an ethical business so I was happy to support them and him. The large booksellers are perhaps not so interested in carrying the small presses (and likely the small presses are not always eager to court the big sellers with their discounts and biases).
I also don't generally order books from overseas (I'm in the US) both because the postage is high and I'm on a tight budget, and because since the pandemic, I've had trouble with packages getting through customs.
When I searched for his books on the Beaten Track website, I didn't find them. But I guess I wasn't looking in the shop - I was just looking on the main site, using the author listings.
Yes, the website is not quite as user friendly as one would hope. He and they are there but occasionally it feels like you have to stand on one foot and attempt the hokey pokey to search successfully...The link I shared is direct to the shop, his listings only.
It was published in 2021, so it's not that old. The setting is this world (Britain, mostly) and not a distant planet, but some of the same themes do play out, so in that sense, there's a similarity to Avatar.
I discovered him through Nimue Brown's Druid Life blog, which he now shares with her. A very interesting novel and a very interesting writer.
David Bridger's books are available directly through his publisher: Beaten Track Publishing.
This is the link to their shop: https://payhip.com/b10track/search?q=david+bridger&page=

I've updated my review to include the link to his books directly in the text, since not everyone reads the comments. Thanks again for the link.
Shades of Avatar somewhat. Is this an older book? Sounds interesting.
