This is fascinating and the pottery is gorgeous. I'm surprised how modern it looks. Their skills were very advanced.

They really were. We have some potters in Ariadne's Tribe, and they've helped me understand exactly how difficult many of the techniques are.

Loved the loop handled cups and the attractive design. Wish we had an artisan like Constance Tippet still recreating artifacts. Even the labrys designed tote bag! Thanks for pointing this out. Inspiration for ceramics designers out there.

There's only one potter I know of who does a regular business in exact Minoan reproductions, and that's Vassilis Politakis. His shop, Spirit of Greece, is right next to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum. During the lockdown, he began taking online orders and shipping internationally, and he now does that as a regular part of his business: https://spiritofgreece.eu/product-category/ceramics/

He has even recreated Minoan style kilns in a major feat of experimental archaeology: https://spiritofgreece.gr/experimental-archaeology/minoan-type-kilns/
