Do you ever get out your Tarot or oracle deck, look at it, and wonder why you’re looking to flip over some cards yet again?
Let’s be honest: We can’t foretell every detail of the future. That’s not what cartomancy is about. No amount of card-flipping will give us control over what’s about to happen in our lives.
I’ve had the same cards appear in a reading during a momentous, life-changing time and during an extremely ordinary period of my life.
The cards don’t usually tell us what is going to happen. What they do is remind us that we have the tools to help manage how we deal with whatever crops up. And sometimes, it helps to have a third party (the cards) point out which tools would be your best options at any given time.
Because life can get busy, unsettling, and overwhelming. And that can keep us from being able to think clearly, at least on a conscious level.
In times like those, we can still open ourselves to our subconscious, our higher selves, and our spirit kin via the cards. And when that message comes through, we can use it to deal with whatever life throws at us.
I hope life throws good things your way this week!
Youth of Horns: Take care of your body. Make your physical health a priority. Make the effort to get moving a little, and take the time to rest when you need to. Pay attention to what your body is telling you, because it may be different from what other people say. Be in your body as much as you can (depending on pain levels, etc.) instead of being off in your thoughts. That will help ground you and make your experience of life more stable.
Priest of Labryses: When you're faced with decisions this week, make them from an intellectual, analytical point of view. Do your best to avoid letting emotion cloud your judgment. Instead, puzzle out your solution based on the facts and your personal ethics, make a fair and just decision, then stick with it.
The Minoan Tarot is an 86-card deck I created, with art I drew and painted by hand in the style of the ancient Minoan frescoes. The court cards are gender balanced, and the deck comes in a beautiful box along with a full-color 176-page companion book. The Minoan Tarot website offers photos of many of the cards as well as more details about the deck. It took me three years to create the artwork for the deck; I hope it offers you a lifetime of enjoyment!
