I spent a good portion of this weekend feeling like Something unseen was happening… you’ve probably had an “impending” feeling like that at one time or another.
Then I realized we were at roughly the halfway point between two eclipses: a lunar one and a solar one.
What does the place where two shadows overlap look like? Even deeper shadow.
So I’m not surprised that I drew the Minotaur this norming. It’s the Shadow card par excellence, pointing us toward our own inner darkness - not as some kind of evil that we need to exorcise, but as a part of ourselves that we need to recognize, honor, and integrate… and not allow it to harm us or hold us back.
So in this time between two eclipses, I’m going to do some shadow work. Have a look at my own darkness. Let the Minotaur - who is a beloved god, not a monster - guide me through the labyrinth of my inner being to face those shadows.
Then I’ll be more free to enjoy the successes I’ve achieved and the good things I’ve earned.
How will you spend this time between shadows?
Three of Daggers: You've tried something new, stepped into formerly unknown territory, and now it's starting to pay off. You got here by letting your passion - your inner fire - lead you. So honor that passion by enjoying and cherishing this first taste of success.
The Minotaur: It's time to face your fears so you can continue to move forward. Sometimes, success is scarier than failure, because at least with failure, you get to stay where you started, and that's familiar territory. It's time to bring those fears out into the daylight and take a good, long look at them, recognizing that they're not rational and that they come from a sense of lack that you picked up somewhere along the way. Then step past them and continue on your journey.
The Minoan Tarot is an 86-card deck I created, with art I drew and painted by hand in the style of the ancient Minoan frescoes. The court cards are gender balanced, and the deck comes in a beautiful presentation box along with a full-color 176-page companion book. The Minoan Tarot website offers photos of many of the cards as well as more details about the deck. It took me three years to create the artwork for the deck; I hope it offers you a lifetime of enjoyment!
I love how you describe the Minotaur <3 It gives me Marianne Williamson vibes ('It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us...')
