I regularly have to field comments and questions about the Minoans. Many of these inquiries are inspired by the outdated, incorrect information that continues to circulate online (because once something is on the internet, it’s there to stay, apparently).
So I have to explain that Minoan Crete wasn’t a utopia, the Minoans weren’t Greek, nor were they monotheists (not even “goddess monotheists”), among other things.
It’s understandable that there would be some confusion about the Minoans, given the contradictory and outdated information that people keep copying from one blog post to another.
But it turns out, there’s some confusion about Ariadne’s Tribe as well.
Even though we’re not affiliated with any other Minoan-themed spiritual tradition, people still don’t seem to understand exactly how we differ from the others.
Last weekend, I gave a presentation about Tribe spirituality at WitchCon. One of the audience members asked me to explain the difference between Ariadne’s Tribe and the Minoan Brotherhood. I feel like I didn’t do as good a job of answering as I wanted to, since I’m not terribly familiar with the Minoan Brotherhood. So with the assistance of some Tribe members, I’ve written up a blog post that details the differences:
How is Ariadne’s Tribe different from The Minoan Brotherhood?
I hope this clears up any confusion.
Whatever path you follow, I hope it gives you joy!
