Here in the northern hemisphere, we’re in that portion of late winter/early spring when people start to get antsy. There are days when it’s beautiful, warmish, and spring-like. There are also days when it’s cold, windy, wet, and still very wintry. Those of us who garden want to get on with it, but we don’t dare because the last frost is still weeks away.
It feels kind of like being stuck in stop-and-go traffic.
Today’s cards reflect that sense, the desire and perhaps the need to make some changes, to get moving.
But what the cards point to is how we make that move: with discretion, with a thought toward the consequences of our actions, with a nod toward our sense of what’s good and right, regardless of what others may think.
Everything is connected. This is a cause-and-effect world.
So break loose from your winter confines, but choose your new direction with care.
Herewith, the cards:
Four of Rhytons: You're feeling uneasy and dissatisfied with your life or some aspect of it. The things you have going on now don't fulfill you the way they used to. Maybe it's time to change focus, stir things up a little. This might mean shifting your priorities to some aspect of your life that you haven't been paying much attention to. Or it could mean adding something new. What it definitely means is getting yourself in gear and putting in some effort to find and solidify the new focus, because it's the effort and the challenge that will give you the ultimate satisfaction.
Justice: Cause and effect creates the backdrop for our lives. This card is about making decisions while keeping in mind the connections and repercussions those decisions will have. The first card points you toward the decision you need to make. This one lets you know that the decision will have consequences beyond what's readily visible. So make your choice based on your sense of what's good and right and not based on pressure from anyone else. You're the one who has to live with the consequences of your decisions.
The Minoan Tarot is an 86-card deck I created, with art I drew and painted by hand in the style of the ancient Minoan frescoes. The court cards are gender balanced, and the deck comes in a beautiful box along with a full-color 176-page companion book. The Minoan Tarot website offers photos of many of the cards as well as more details about the deck. It took me three years to create the artwork for the deck; I hope it offers you a lifetime of enjoyment!
