Sometimes I shuffle the deck and draw two cards. Sometimes the deck chooses for me, tossing the cards out at me as I’m shuffling. This week’s cards are the second variety.
It’s a challenge, deciding how to interpret “leaping cards.” A stronger message than usual? Just another way of delivering the cards for a reading? An indication that I should try shuffling a different way next time?
If you read Tarot (or oracle cards or Lenormand or…) you’ve probably had this happen. How do you interpret it? Do you pay more attention to “leaping cards” than to ones you draw the usual way? Do you set the leaping cards aside as a special message and then draw more cards for the reading you were intending on doing?
For me, it depends. For the two-card draw that I do every Monday, I rarely get leaping cards, and when I do, I pretty consistently get two at a time. So I just take those to be the cards for the week, with the deck being a bit dramatic in its delivery method.
But if I’m doing a larger spread and a single card leaps out while I’m shuffling but before I’ve started the layout for the reading, I set that one aside. It usually turns out to be helpful for clarifying the reading or showing me an angle I hadn’t thought of when formulating my question.
So here you go, a couple of leaping cards for your Monday, with an encouraging message. I wish you a week full of unexpected good things!
This week’s cards:
Maid of Horns: Pay attention to details and to the practicalities of your plans for the week, but don't get so bogged down in the minutiae that you can't get things done. It doesn't have to be perfect. Find the sweet spot of "good enough" and go with it.
Seven of Daggers: Life might be a little challenging right now, but you have what it takes to meet those challenges. What is being tested here is your belief in yourself and your willingness to persevere until you reach your goal. So hold firmly to your inner strength and passion, and move forward with confidence.

I always love hearing others’ thoughts on “leaping” cards. They generally leave me wondering about my ability to shuffle. Thank you for message as well. 🩷
