We have a couple of energetic, go-get-’em cards this week. I guess it’s time to get moving!
Once again, we have a Major Arcana card plus a Minor Arcana card. This kind of pairing has shown up in four out of my last five weekly draws. This agrees with all the astrologers I’ve read who say that stuff is happening right now that will affect the greater arcs of our lives more than usual. So pay close attention to your actions and decisions, to make sure they’re pointing you in the direction you want to go.
This week’s cards are encouraging, underscoring the idea that we have the tools, the skills, the passion and drive to reach our goals. We just have to have the guts to use them.
The High Priest is the card that began this deck, when I was inspired by the Prince of the Lilies Minoan fresco. I shared the story of the deck’s inspiration and creation in this post:
The Lady of Daggers is all about the passion and high ideals that drive us forward, impelling us toward greater things. The image on this card is based on one of the ladies in the Grandstand fresco from Knossos. This work of art shows people gathered at Knossos for a major event, with a bunch of finely-dressed ladies chatting in the stands:
In fact, I based several of the face cards in this deck on the lively ladies in this fresco. I wonder what the event was that they were so excited to be watching. Probably something very festive, since they’re dressed in all their finery!
I’m going to spend some time this week looking at where I want to go and what I want to do in all the major facets of my life. It may be time to rearrange some priorities so I can move ahead more strongly with a few projects.
I hope this week offers you inspiration and motivation to move toward your goals, whatever they may be.
This week’s cards:
The High Priest: Step out into the world and make things happen! It's time to embrace your inner power and turn it outward. You have the tools, both within you and around you, to achieve what you desire. And you're probably capable of far more than you think.
Lady of Daggers: Allow your high standards and your fervent beliefs to guide you in your passion to achieve things in life. But be aware that perfection isn't necessary, in yourself or others. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Determine where "good enough" lies and accept it as a way to move toward your goals.
