We’ve finally shifted back to the Minor Arcana after a couple of weeks of nothing but Majors.
That feels like a relief.
I don’t know about you, but I feel like yesterday’s Full Moon was some kind of barrier we had to pass through. I definitely have the sense of being “on the other side” now that it’s past. The astrologers I follow all had slightly different interpretations of the event, but all agreed that it had substantial impact and influence.
Let’s hope this means we’re going to have a little breather for a while. Life has certainly been interesting enough lately!
This week’s cards bring us some Fire, displaying both its troublesome and helpful aspects, but on what you might call a local level — nothing earth-shattering or life-changing.
The first card, the Five of Daggers, I drew from the top of the deck. It speaks to the obvious, up-front aspects of the week ahead.
My first priestess, the one who taught me how to read Tarot years ago, had me decide on my own keywords, one for each Tarot card, to help me remember their basic meanings. The word I chose for the Five of Daggers (Five of Wands in the Waite-Smith Tarot deck) is “clusterf!ck.” Pardon my language, but I think the sentiment fits.
It’s not a permanent situation, but it’s an annoying one. Our own actions and attitudes may play into it, triggering it in the first place or making it worse. Ain’t that always the way?
The key to dealing with a Five of Daggers week is to remember that it’s a temporary problem that won’t shift us away from our long-term goals. Patience, and all that. Yeah, I’m working on patience. I’ll let you know when I’ve mastered it! lol
The second card, the one I drew from the bottom of the deck, points to the secret to dealing with what the week throws at us. Guess what? It’s more Fire!
No matter what kinds of roadbumps and obstacles the week throws at us, we should keep our passions burning, keep our fires (our Fire) lit.
To me, this is a reminder that the road to success, however you define it, involves “keeping on keeping on.” Just keep swimming. Remember why you’re doing it all in the first place.
Let your passions fuel your way forward, no matter what else happens. This temporary situation will blow over, and you’ll still be on your way to where you want to go.
This week's cards:
Five of Daggers: Complications and obstacles may throw a monkey-wrench in your plans. Don't panic; these things happen. Do your best not to let your own anxiety and fear make matters worse. This is a temporary situation and won't keep you from being able to reach your long-term goals.
Lord of Daggers: It's OK; go ahead and throw yourself into whatever project stirs your passions. Be sure to take the time to look at all sides of the situation, but if it's what you want, your passion will be infectious and will encourage others to join you.
