Lately, I’ve cringed a little as I turn over each week’s cards. The Big World is in such chaos lately, and the cards have often reflected the changes we’re all having to deal with.
Then suddenly this morning, I drew these two cards, reminders of what’s really valuable in life, in good times and bad, even in these interesting times we’re living through now.
And what, you may ask, is so valuable? Our connections with each other.
We weave ourselves into the tapestries of each other’s lives, adding color and dimension to each other’s experiences. That’s a beautiful thing.
Sometimes we choose to just quietly be there for each other; other times, we actively support each other, celebrate each other’s accomplishments, grieve each other’s losses.
We are mirrors to each other, reflecting the value and vibrancy of life between us.
I cherish my local friends, the ones I go on hikes with and meet for tea or lunch or Pagan festivals. But I’m also grateful for the internet, since it allows us to maintain connection with people who are far away, to extend the threads of our tapestries beyond our local domain. It allows people who aren’t mobile to reach out to others and make connections, and it reminds us that we’re all human, just human, across town and around the world.
It allows me to connect with you, to share ideas and thoughts and concerns. I’m so glad we’re all here together. Because also, we’re all in this together.
Let’s take some time this week to celebrate that.
Three of Rhytons: Celebrate your relationships! This card reminds us that we have valuable connections with people we love and trust, people who feed us on so many different levels. Take time this week to appreciate those connections and the beauty they bring to your life. Reach out to others and reinforce those relationships. Weave each other’s tapestries stronger and stronger!
Priest of Rhytons: Your ability to connect with others and support them in their endeavors feeds your own soul as well. Healthy relationships are a two-way street and are not transactional, but are based in respect and caring for the other person. Your deep feelings for others are an asset. Allow yourself to value that aspect of yourself. It’s what makes you beautifully, deeply human.
The Minoan Tarot is an 86-card deck I created, with art I painted by hand. The court cards are gender balanced, and the deck comes with a full-color 176-page companion book. The Minoan Tarot website offers photos of many of the cards as well as more details about the deck. It took me three years to create the artwork for the deck; I hope it offers you a lifetime of enjoyment!
This is lovely, Laura, and an always-timely reminder that what yet might save us is/are the connections fostered by love and an open heart. Thank you.
This thread of weaving keeps coming up over and over again in my daily practice. It’s a comforting message, especially during these tumultuous times.
